پژوهش حاضر با هدف اثرات روش‌های بخش‌بندی و افزونگی بر بارشناختی و یادگیری واژگان و درک مطلب درس زبان انگلیسی در محیط یادگیری چندرسانه‌ای انجام شد. پژوهش حاضر به لحاظ هدف تحقیق کاربردی و از نوع آزمایشی حقیقی می‌باشد. جامعه آماری پژوهش حاضر شامل تمام زبان آموزان 14تا16 ساله آموزشگاه‌های زبان شهر دامغان می‌باشد. موضوع محتوی آموزشی در خصوص تبیین فعالیت آتشفشانها بود که در قالب نرم‌افزار پاورپوینت در حداکثر 10 اسلاید (بر اساس نوع گروه) به 90 آزمودنی که به‌صورت تصادفی در شش گروه (هر گروه 15نفر) بخش‌بندی بالا/ ارائه شنیداری، بخش‌بندی بالا/ ارائه دیداری، بخش‌بندی بالا/ افزونه، بخش‌بندی پایین/ ارائه شنیداری، بخش‌بندی پایین/ ارائه دیداری، بخش‌بندی پایین/ افزونه منتسب شده بودند، ارائه شد. پژوهش به‌صورت کاملاً آزمایشی (یک طرح عاملی کاملاً تصادفی 2×3) بود. برای جمع آوری اطلاعات از آزمون محقق ساخته یادگیری واژگان، درک مطلب، سنجش دانش پیشین و مقیاس سنجش بار شناختی پاس (1992) استفاده گردید. جهت تجزیه و تحلیل داده‌ها از آزمون تحلیل واریانس استفاده گردید. نتایج آزمون تحلیل واریانس نشان داد اثرمتقابل روش بخش‌بندی و روش افزونگی بر بار شناختی و یادگیری معنی‌دار بود. نتایج آزمون تعقیبی نیز نشان داد گروه بخش‌بندی بالا- افزونه به‌طور معنی‌داری بارشناختی پایین‌تر و یادگیری واژگان و درک مطلب بالاتری را در مقایسه با سایر گروه‌ها گزارش کردند. با توجه به نتایج به‌دست‌آمده می‌توان گفت که روش‌های بخش‌بندی و افزونگی بر کاهش بارشناختی و ارتقاء یادگیری واژگان و درک مطلب درس زبان انگلیسی در محیط یادگیری چندرسانه‌ای اثربخش می‌باشد.
